Ms. Minahil Khan, Senior Research Fellow RSIL, conducted a talk on the ‘Rights of Women under the Law in Pakistan’ for a group of enthusiastic female prosecutors working all over Pakistan at the Trial Advocacy Skills Workshop organized by the United States Department of Justice Office of Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training on Tuesday, 25th of June 2019.
The detailed talk involved an explanation of the structure of the Constitutional Law as well as the International Law that obliges the State of Pakistan to protect the rights of women. This was followed by an interactive discussion with the participants on how to improve the current legal system to ensure that no woman is discriminated against in Pakistan.
Ms. Minahil Khan also elaborated on issues that lead to non-implementation of pro-women laws and highlighted how to legally overcome the challenges for a better and safe future for the women in Pakistan.
