Working Group Meetings for Justice Sector Actors
Dates | Total Participants |
10th – 11th February ’21 | 17 |
The aim of the Working Group was to develop tools which identify the various types of evidence which is available to investigators in Pakistan in AML/CFT offences, help investigators assess the value of the evidence in their investigations and subsequent trial of the accused, outline and guide investigators on the process of requesting or collecting such evidence, and how to build a case based on such evidence. These tools will primarily provide investigators across Pakistan with the necessary information and know how to successfully investigate AML/CFT offences and bring uniformity in their approach across provinces. A secondary benefit of these tools will be that prosecutors and judges will also be able to refer to the manual to better understand the nature of offences and the types of evidence which are available for each case. This will allow for better prosecutions, more cogent understanding of AML/CFT offences, and better scrutiny at trial.
