Semra Islam is a Junior Research Associate at RSIL’s Lahore Office. She completed her BA-LL.B. (Hons) with a High Distinction from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
Prior to joining RSIL, Ms. Islam was working as a Research Assistant at LUMS, where she was involved in research on varied aspects of constitutional and administrative law in Pakistan. During her undergraduate program, she served as a Teaching Assistant for four courses: Pakistan Studies, Introduction to Legal Reasoning, Introduction to Pakistan Legal System, and Commercial Law.
Ms. Islam served as a Student Editor for the LUMS Law Journal from 2020 to 2021. She has also participated in various international and national moot court competitions, including Asia Cup Moot Court Competition 2019.
At RSIL, she is primarily involved in work on criminal justice reform, with a focus on counter-terrorism and anti-money laundering regimes in Pakistan.
