As a Junior Research Associate at RSIL, Umar Babar brings a diverse set of experiences and skills to the organization. Umar obtained a BA-LLB (Honours) from LUMS. He then worked in Haripur as an Associate in the law offices of Advocate Supreme Court Khalid Rehman Qureshi where he immersed himself into the legal practice in small districts in Pakistan. In that role, Umar gained valuable experience in civil and family litigation with regular appearances before the District Court Haripur, Peshawar High Court, and Supreme Court.

Umar is passionate about the application of human rights principles through both litigation and policy research. He is excited to apply his skills and knowledge in this area to his work at the Research Society of International Law. He is committed to conducting rigorous and impactful research that promotes the advancement of international law and protects the rights of all individuals, especially those who are most vulnerable.
